Distracted driver causes injury crash on Main St. in McAllen

MCALLEN, TX – A woman was injured as the result of a T-bone collision caused by a suspected distracted driver near Roselawn Cemetery late last week.

The accident took place on April 20th shortly before 12:30 p.m. within the 1000 block of South Main Street at the intersection with Jackson Avenue West.

Officers with the McAllen Police Department said the 42-year-old woman behind the wheel of a 2010 Mazda was speeding when her vehicle ran through the traffic signal and was T-boned by a 2014 Nissan.

The woman in the at-fault vehicle was unhurt. However, the driver of the Nissan, a 61-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
