2 ejected in single-vehicle crash on SPID in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Two people were seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash in Corpus Christi late Thursday night, KIII reports.

The accident took place at about 10:20 p.m. along South Padre Island Drive between the intersections with Holmes Drive and Staples Street.

Police at the scene say the driver of an unspecified vehicle collided with a palm tree at a high rate of speed.

Both the driver and one of the passengers were ejected from the vehicle. They were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

A third occupant was able to get themselves out of the vehicle. They were also taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The cause of the crash remains unclear at this time.
