51-year-old woman killed in Falfurrias crash

FALFURRIAS, TX – A woman from Corpus Christi was killed following a three-vehicle collision in Falfurrias on Monday.

According to KIII, the driver of a Chevrolet Trax was northbound on County Road 402 when they drove through a stop sign at SH-285 and collided with a trailer being hauled by a Ford F-350.

The force of the impact caused the trailer to overturn in the roadway, where it was struck by an oncoming Chevrolet Traverse, causing the Traverse to roll several times.

51-year-old Aida Marie Torres, a passenger in the Traverse, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both occupants in the Trax and three other occupants in the Traverse were transported to Spohn Shoreline Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

It is unclear if any charges will be filed against the individual responsible for the fatal crash at this time.
