71-year-old woman killed after 2-vehicle collision in Sinton

SINTON, TX – An elderly woman died following a major collision in Sinton Friday evening, KIII reports.

The crash took place on May 7th at about 4:45 p.m. as 71-year-old Opal Baker took the exit from US Highway 77 to State Highway 89.

The San Patricio County Sheriff says Baker failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by an oncoming truck.

Unfortunately, Baker was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unclear if the other driver involved was hurt.
