Corpus Christi man identified in fatal Taft car accident

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety have released the identity of a man killed in a single-vehicle collision in Taft on Sunday.

According to KIII, 58-year-old David Hinojosa Jr., of Corpus Christi,  was traveling on County Road 1612 when he lost control of his vehicle and careened into a concrete culvert. The force of the impact caused his vehicle to overturn and strike a nearby utility pole.

Hinojosa was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. No other injuries were reported.

The precise location of the collision was not mentioned in the report.
