Dump Truck Causes Power Outage

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – A dump truck was driving on Laguna Shores Road, with the truck bed raised, and collided with wires on a nearby light pole. The driver did not recognize the truck was caught in the wires and continued driving, pulling several light and utility poles down behind the vehicle. KRIS 6 News reports that the incident occurred at 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29.

The driver was asked to stay in the vehicle until the city could turn off the electricity running through the downed power lines. The driver was eventually able to safely leave the vehicle and does not appear to have sustained any injuries. Due to several collapsed poles, the Flour Bluff area lost power until approximately 6:30 p.m.
