ARANSAS PASS, TX – An elderly man was struck and killed near the intersection of TX-35 and Longoria Road yesterday morning, KIII reports.

The man—who has not been publicly identified—was 90 years old and said to be suffering from dementia. He was struck at about 1 a.m. on April 5, as he walked across Highway 35.

The driver who hit the elderly man stayed on the scene and cooperated with police. He said that he had been traveling north when he saw the pedestrian in the roadway, and did not have enough time to stop.

Police withheld the victim’s name out of respect to his family.
