Fatal Car Crash on FM 106

WESLACO, TX – A black Ford pickup truck and a white Toyota towing a boat crashed at the intersection of FM 106 and FM 1847 Saturday evening.

KVEO 23 reports that the accident occurred at 7:37 p.m. on Saturday, May 2. The Ford was moving east on FM 106 and the Toyota was traveling south on FM 1847 when the two vehicles collided.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) stated that the driver of the white Toyota was distracted while driving. This caused the driver to run a stop sign at the intersection and hit the black Ford.

The 69-year-old woman who was driving the Ford was critically injured in the accident. Officers report that she died on the scene. The DPS is currently investigating the accident, but they believe the driver of the Toyota may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
