2 dead and 12 injured following fatal crash on TX 285 in Brooks County

BROOKS COUNTY, TX – A rollover crash on TX 285 killed two males and injured 12 others on October 16, according to KIII.

A deputy tried to pull over a Ford F-150 driver for a traffic violation when the driver led the deputy on a high-speed chase.

The F-150 driver rolled over around 1:30 a.m. The driver had been smuggling migrants. Rescue crews pronounced two passengers dead at the scene of the accident and transported 12 migrants to an area hospital.

Following the accident, the driver fled the scene. Authorities have not yet located them.

The incident is under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
