2 injured after Ford collides with Toyota near downtown McAllen

MCALLEN, TX – Two people were reportedly injured following a multi-vehicle collision just north of downtown McAllen early last week.

The March 2nd collision took place shortly before 2 p.m. within the 700 block of Gumwood Avenue near the intersection with north 8th Street.

Responding officers believe the driver of a 2007 Ford, a 57-year-old man, failed to yield the right of way to a 2009 Toyota at the stop sign, causing the Toyota to collide head-on with the driver’s side of the Ford.

The man in the at-fault vehicle was unhurt. However, a 20-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman in the Toyota sustained unknown injuries.
