2 injured after suspected DWI crash in West McAllen

MCALLEN, TX – A man and woman in their 20s were injured following a suspected DWI collision west of downtown McAllen last Monday evening.

The two-vehicle collision took place around 4:45 p.m. along US Business Route 83 near the intersection with North 23rd Street.

Police say the driver behind the wheel of a 2003 Ford, a 43-year-old man, had been drinking when he collided with the rear of a 2016 Jeep stopped at the intersection.

The man responsible for the crash was uninjured. However, both occupants in the Jeep, ages 23 and 21 sustained unknown injuries.

It is unclear whether the man in the Ford will face any charges at this time.
