PHARR, TX – One man was killed and another taken into custody following a suspected DWI crash in Pharr on Saturday.
According to Valley Central, the accident took place on April 24th at about 3 a.m. at the intersection of Cage Boulevard and Javelina Drive.
Officers say the vehicle driven by 21-year-old Damian Martinez collided with the rear of another vehicle stopped at the red light at a high rate of speed. The occupant in the second vehicle, 50-year-old Juan Silva, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Martinez was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter and accident involving death. He is currently being held on $200,000 bail.
