ALTON, TX – Police in Alton have reported a serious injury resulting from a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash Monday evening.
The accident was reported at about 6:37 p.m. within the 1900 block of East Main Avenue near the intersection with North Mexico Street.
Police say the unidentified 53-year-old male pedestrian was attempting to cross outside of a designated crosswalk when he was struck by a 2007 Volkswagen.
The man was seriously injured and likely rushed to the hospital following the crash.
The driver in the Volkswagen, a 63-year-old man, was uninjured.
