Floods subside in South Texas, but some roads remain closed

HIDALGO COUNTY, TX – While most of the roads that were closed due to hurricane-related flooding last week have since reopened, at least one remains closed.

The Texas Department of Transportation reports that FM 1015 near Monte Alto may still be closed as floods caused by Hurricane Hanna continue to subside. This is a significant improvement over conditions last week, when at least five highways were closed because of flooding.

TxDOT expects the road to reopen by August 14.
