EDINBURG, TX – Two people are dead after a hit-and-run incident in Edinburg on Sunday night, KRGV reports.
The deadly accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on South Alamo Road. Two women were pouring gas into their vehicle on the side of the road when they were hit by a brown Chevrolet Silverado.
Both women were then taken to the hospital. The 18-year-old woman who was pregnant died upon arrival and an emergency C-section was unable to save the life of her baby.
The other woman was quickly released from the hospital.
On Tuesday, the 44-year-old driver turned himself in. He is being charged with charged with fail to stop and render aid-death, fail to render aid with serious bodily injuries and tampering with physical evidence.
