Pedestrian killed in Edinburgh collision

EDINBURGH, TX – A 28-year-old man was killed after being struck by an SUV along Farm-to-Market road Thursday evening.

According to Valley Central, the crash occurred at about 6 p.m. along FM 1423 near the intersection with Wisconsin Drive.

Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety say a black GMC SUV was traveling southbound on FM 1423 when he struck Pedro Isias Mares Flores who was attempting to cross the road outside of a designated crosswalk. Flores was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Details regarding the identity of the driver involved or if they will face any charges have yet to be released.
