1 dead, 1 injured after car collides with tree SW of San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man was killed and a woman was injured when their vehicle collided with a tree southwest of San Antonio early on Sunday.

KSAT reports that this San Antonio car accident happened in the 11200 block of Applewhite Road at about 2:30 a.m. on April 4. A man in his late teens or early 20s lost control of his vehicle, which ran across the oncoming lane before crashing into a tree. He died at the scene, and had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

A 17-year-old female passenger was transported to University Hospital. She was said to be in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing, but speed is believed to have played a factor.
