14-year-old girl struck by pickup truck on South Side

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A teenage girl was critically injured when she was hit by a pickup truck on San Antonio’s South Side.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, police responded just after midnight Friday following the incident on the 1100 block of W. Amber Street.

The victim, a 14-year-old, was reported to have been struck while she was lighting fireworks on the street. She was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition.

Police said the pickup truck driver tried to leave the scene after the crash but was stopped up the street by some other people and was stabbed. The driver was hospitalized and was arrested.
