2-car crash in W San Antonio sends man to hospital

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man was hospitalized last night following a two-vehicle collision that sent his car crashing into a utility pole, FOX 29 reports.

Police say the man was driving on W Commerce Street at about 10:30 p.m., while a pickup truck was traveling on NW 19th Street. One of the vehicles ran a stoplight and collided with the other, sending the car into a nearby utility pole with enough force to snap the pole.

The man in the car was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was unhurt.

A crew from CPS Energy was called to fix the pole.

Police investigations are ongoing.
