2 dead after driver fleeing from police crashes on I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A driver fatally crashed into a metal barrier, killing two and injuring four, while fleeing from police on I-35 NB Wednesday, according to KSAT.

At around 7:45 a.m., an officer tried to pull over an SUV that was driving erratically. The SUV driver fled from the officer and struck a metal barrier as it attempted to enter I-35. The collision caused the SUV to flip and eject two men from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

First responders transported two people from the vehicle to an area hospital in critical condition and two in serious condition.

Officers detained one man at the scene who was unhurt in the collision.

Authorities have not identified the victims at this time.
