2 hospitalized, including SAPD officer, following Highway 281 collision

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A San Antonio police officer along with two other individuals were taken to the hospital after being struck while investigating a separate accident on Highway 281 last Friday morning.

According to KSAT, the collision occurred along Highway 281 near the entrance ramp from Josephine Street at about 7:40 a.m.

The officer was working at an unrelated, minor traffic incident when the driver of a Buick lost control of his vehicle and struck the officer while she was standing at her patrol car. She suffered a leg injury and was transported to Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the Buick needed to be extracted from his vehicle by fire crews. He suffered a head injury but is expected to survive.

Police believe slick road conditions may have been a factor in the crash.
