SAN ANTONIO, TX – Two people were injured and a dog died in a house fire on La Lira St, near Nacogdoches Rd early Wednesday morning, KENS 5 reports.
When firefighters arrived at the fire around 3 a.m., flames were spreading from the side of the house to the attic. They went inside to rescue a woman after receiving word she was trapped in her bedroom. She was hospitalized with critical injuries but is now in stable condition.
Another occupant, a male, was also injured in the fire. They were treated at the scene by paramedics.
A labrador named Baby Girl died after going inside the burning building to rescue family members.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. It is also unclear whether the family owned the house or were renters.
