22-year-old driver arrested after rear-ending off-duty SAPD officer

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A suspected drunk driver was arrested following a collision involving an off-duty San Antonio police officer.

According to KENS, the incident occurred at about 3 a.m. along I-35 near the Zarzamora Street overpass.

Police believe the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed along the access road when his SUV collided with the rear of the officer’s Lexus. The SUV then rolled into the main lanes of the freeway.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. However, the 22-year-old man in the at-fault vehicle was arrested on suspicion of DWI.
