SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 69-year-old woman is dead after she turned around on northbound 281 and began driving the wrong way, Fox San Antonio reports.
The woman was travelling north when she made a U-turn near the Basse Road exit. Shortly afterward she collided with a Toyota Tundra.
The driver of the Tundra suffered minor injuries. The woman, who was driving a red smart car, was removed from her vehicle with the jaws of life and was taken to a hospital.
At the hospital she passed away from her injuries.
Police are unsure why she decided to make a U-turn on the highway.
