EVANT, TX – An older woman died following a crash on US 281 Friday, Everything Lubbock reports.
A 48-year-old man was driving a Ford Edge northbound on US 281, while a 71-year-old man was driving a Dodge Ram southbound on the same road. The driver of the Edge strayed into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with the Ram.
Carol Ann Neatherlin, 62, was a passenger in the Ram. Justice of the Peace Cameron Brister pronounced Neatherlin dead at the scene of the wreck.
First responders transported the driver of the Ram to Rollins Brook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police charged the driver of the Edge with intoxication manslaughter.
The exact time the crash occurred is unclear.
