Man killed in fatal accident on the freeway at I-10 and Fresno

SAN ANTONIO, TX –  A man was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler while walking on the freeway at I-10 and Fresno, just before the Hildebrand and Fulton exit at around 3:12 p.m. on Friday. Authorities do not know why the man was walking on the freeway at the time of the accident. The truck driver has not been identified, but SAPD officials say that he tried to swerve to avoid hitting the pedestrian but was unable to do so. The driver attempted to render aid and remained at the scene until first responders arrived.

The accident closed all but three lanes on I-10 Eastbound for several hours while investigators were at the scene.
