Dia De Los Muertos Street Festival

Celebrate Día de los Muertos in Corpus Christi with Herrman & Herrman

Dia De Los Muertos Corpus Christi Sponsored by Herrman and Herrman

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, downtown Corpus Christi will fill with music, art, food, and remembrance for the annual Día de los Muertos Street Festival. Herrman & Herrman is excited to join the celebration with a La Empressa business booth. If you’re attending, stop by and say hello to our team.

The festival runs from 1 p.m. to midnight, and admission is free. It stretches across Chaparral, Mesquite, Starr, Peoples, and Taylor Streets, giving families and friends plenty of room to explore one of the Coastal Bend’s most beloved traditions.

A Celebration of Life and Remembrance

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican tradition centered on remembering loved ones who have died. It is a time to share their stories, honor what they meant to us, and celebrate the connections that continue across generations.

That spirit is at the heart of the Corpus Christi festival. The streets will be lively, but visitors will also find space for reflection in the community ofrendas. These altars are created to honor people who have passed away. Each one offers a glimpse into a life and the memories held by family, friends, and neighbors.

The Community Ofrenda Display is among the festival’s most meaningful stops. Organizers also invite visitors to bring a printed, framed photo, no larger than 8 by 10 inches, for the central community ofrenda. For anyone wishing to remember a loved one in that way, the display offers a chance to take part in the tradition.

Experience the Art and Music of the Coastal Bend

Now in its 19th year, the Día de los Muertos Street Festival brings together artists, performers, students, local businesses, and visitors from across the region. Four entertainment stages will feature a range of performances, including mariachi, Tejano music, Latin rock, Ballet Folklórico, and traditional cultural dance. Whether you stay for an afternoon or make an evening of it, there will be something new to discover as you walk through downtown.

Art is just as central to the celebration. Festivalgoers can browse handmade work from local artists and artisans, including jewelry, ceramics, textiles, and pieces inspired by Día de los Muertos. At K Space Contemporary, visitors can explore exhibitions and the annual youth piñata competition. This year’s piñata theme, “Leyendas: The Stories of Mexico,” gives young artists an opportunity to draw on legends, family stories, and traditions.

It is a wonderful chance to support Coastal Bend artists and see the care behind their work. You might find something to bring home, meet the person who made it, or leave with a story you did not know when you arrived.

Bring the Family and Come Hungry

The festival is designed for all ages. Families can visit the kids’ area for crafts, games, and entertainment, then spend time exploring the art, ofrendas, and performances together. Children can enjoy the energy of the day while learning about the meaning behind the celebration.

There will also be plenty to eat. Food vendors are expected to offer options ranging from tacos and nachos to barbecue and sweet treats. With more than 100 local vendors participating across the festival, it is easy to turn a visit into a full day downtown. Take your time, try something new, and support the people and small businesses that help make this event possible.

You are welcome to dress for the occasion, too. Colorful clothing, flower crowns, and Día de los Muertos makeup are encouraged, though they are entirely optional. What matters most is arriving ready to experience the art, enjoy the community, and approach the traditions being shared with respect.

Visit the Herrman & Herrman Booth

As a Corpus Christi law firm, Herrman & Herrman values opportunities to spend time with the people who make this community home. We are glad to participate in a festival that brings neighbors together and gives local artists and families a place to share their work, stories, and memories.

Look for our team at our La Empressa business booth while you explore the festival. We would love to meet you, catch up, and hear what you have enjoyed most. Whether you are visiting for the first time or return every year, please stop by and say hello.

Our booth is one small part of a much larger celebration. We hope you will make time to see the ofrendas, listen to the performers, visit the artists, and take in the care that goes into this Corpus Christi tradition.
