1 Killed and 2 Hospitalized After Street Racing-Related Collision in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man died and two others were rushed to the hospital after street racing led to a major collision on San Antonio’s south side Monday night.

According to KSAT, the incident took place within the 2400 block of Comercial Avenue near the intersection with Sharmain Place.

Surveillance video from the scene shows an older model pickup truck racing with a red sedan in the area. The pickup truck struck a patch of water at a high rate of speed causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and struck another vehicle in the oncoming lane.

A male passenger in the pickup truck died as a result of the collision. The 18-year-old driver, along with the male driver of the second vehicle, were both hospitalized with potentially life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear if the driver in the red sedan was hurt.
