WESLACO, TX – Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety reported a single fatality resulting from an auto-pedestrian crash Tuesday afternoon.
According to Valey Central, the accident took place at about 7:40 p.m. along Mile 10 North near the intersection with Mile 4 West.
Investigators believe the 16-year-old pedestrian from Mercedes was walking along the busy roadway when she was struck by an oncoming Ford Mustang. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both occupants in the vehicle were unhurt as a result of the crash. It is unclear if any charges will be filed in connection to Tuesday’s Weslaco pedestrian accident.
