18-year-old victim identified in fatal Northwest Side crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the identity of the 18-year-old woman killed in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

The accident occurred at about 1 a.m. within the 7900 block of Prue Road, according to KSAT.

Investigators say both a Dodge Challenger and a Ford Mustang were traveling westbound on the road when the Challenger moved into the oncoming lane to pass the Mustang. When the driver of the Challenger noticed an oncoming vehicle approaching, they attempted to speed up and veer back into the westbound lanes and struck the front of the Mustang.

The Mustang then careened off the roadway and crashed through a utility pole before rolling over and ejecting the passenger, who has been identified as 18-year-old Dominique Orta.

Orta was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. No further information with regard to the condition of others involved has been released at this time.

Police have not said if any charges will be filed in connection to the incident.
