22-year-old Brownsville man killed in fiery crash

CAMERON CO., TX – Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety have identified the Brownsville man killed following a collision on SH-550 last Friday morning.

According to Valley Central, the accident took place at about 8:46 a.m. along SH-550 just north of SH-48.

Investigators believe 22-year-old Miguel Angel Hernandez was traveling north on the frontage road and for unknown reasons did not enter the freeway and careened off the road. His vehicle then went airborne and struck nearby railroad tracks before becoming engulfed in flames.
