SARITA, TX – Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating the cause of a fatal crash along US-77 Sunday afternoon.
According to KIII, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 3:10 p.m. along US-77 about 14 miles south of Sarita.
Investigators believe 58-year-old Jose Rojas’ vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed through a fence before striking multiple trees. Rojas was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The official cause of the collision remains unclear at this time.
