Car crashes into uninsured driver on Southmost Boulevard

BROWNSVILLE, TX – On Wednesday afternoon, a driver in a Ford crashed into another car while attempting to make a left turn on Southmost Boulevard.

The Brownsville Police Department reports that a 65-year-old man in a Black 2016 Ford hit a silver 2008 Buick at approximately 4:41 p.m. on May 6. The Ford was making a left turn at the intersection of Southmost Boulevard and International Boulevard, but the driver did not yield to oncoming traffic.

The right-front corner of the Ford hit the Buick’s front bumper in the accident. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage, but neither car required a tow truck to remove it from the scene.

Officials reported that neither driver sustained injuries in the accident.

The police determined that the man driving the Ford was at fault for the accident, and they charged him with failure to yield. However, officers also charged the 31-year-old woman driving the Buick because she was driving without a license or car insurance.
