Family home destroyed after Corpus Cristi fire

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – A family in Corpus Christi lost their home as the result of a major fire near SH-286 Wednesday afternoon.

According to KIII, the fire broke out at about 3 p.m. at a home within the 300 block of Coke Street.

Firefighters arrived to discover smoke and flames billowing out of the home. At least five people were able to escape without injury while firefighters saved a cat upon entering the home.

The blaze was under control in less than 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the house was considered a total loss.

The Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
