Fatal early morning pedestrian accident reported in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Police in Corpus Christi were forced to close off Weber Road following a fatal pedestrian accident early Monday morning.

According to KIII, the accident was reported along Weber Rd. near the intersection with Apollo Street shortly before 6 a.m.

Investigators say a 46-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross outside of the designated crosswalk in dark clothing when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver involved remained at the scene and is not expected to face any criminal charges.
