Over 100 evacuated following San Antonio mattress fire

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Firefighters were forced to evacuate over 100 people from a San Antonio apartment building following a nearby fire Wednesday night.

According to KENS, the fire was reported around 9 p.m. at the ’68 apartments along Hemisfair Road.

Emergency crews discovered a large mattress on fire next to the building’s trash chute. More than 100 people were evacuated from the building while firefighters worked at the scene.

The fire was quickly knocked down with no serious injuries reported as a result.
