Pedestrian killed on unlit street

SAN ANTONIO, TX – 40-year-old Gregory Ivan Jackson II was killed on Thursday night when he was hit by a car while walking on a dark street.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. May 14, a driver in a Ford Mustang crashed into Jackson, who was walking near 11000 US-181. The driver reported that there was inadequate lighting on the road, so he was unable to see Jackson before the accident.

According to News 4 San Antonio, an officer from the San Antonio Police Department pronounced Jackson dead on the scene.

The driver who hit Jackson cooperated on the scene and assisted police in their investigation of the accident. The police also report that the driver was not intoxicated at the time of the crash. At this time, the driver is facing no charges.
