Woman killed in rollover accident on FM 1420 east of FM 507.

MCALLEN, TX. –  A woman was killed in a rollover accident on FM 1420 east of FM 507 this morning, according to authorities and KRGV News 5. According to reports, the driver, 30-year-old Sandra Patrica Diaz, was driving a red Mercury Mountaineer with three children in the car when she lost control of the vehicle while speeding through a curve.

The vehicle veered off the road and struck a utility pole. According to DPS officials, Diaz was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, nor were any of her children. Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene. The children were transported to Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen. One was reportedly in critical-but-stable condition with a collapsed lung. The others were treated for minor injuries and were released.
