Authorities release identity of woman killed in fatal wreck near Beeville

BEEVILLE, TX, – KRIS reports that authorities have identified a woman who was killed in a wreck near Beesville Saturday night.

Authorities said the accident happened on U.S. 181 north of Beeville around 8:30 p.m.

According to Officer Nathan Brandley with the Department of Public Safety, Victoria Lyssy, 25, was traveling north in a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse when her vehicle was struck by a 2012 Dodge Ram that fishtailed while driving southbound. Authorities believe a wet roadway caused the Ram to hydroplane and veer into the northbound lane.

Lyssy was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children in her car, a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, were taken to Spohn Beeville with non-life-threatening injuries.
