One killed in crash after semi-truck hydroplanes on US-77

REFUGIO COUNTY, TX – One person has died following a semi truck accident in Refugio County, reports KIIITV.

The accident took place on US-77 on September 17th at around 3:45 p.m., when a semi-truck traveling at unsafe speeds hydroplaned into oncoming traffic. The truck then hit a Ford F-150, killing the driver, 66-year-old Rusty Lee Edwards.

The truck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries following the crash.

This accident is still under investigation by DPS.
