Tractor-Trailer Overturns, Takes Out Utility Pole on San Antonio’s Northeast Side

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A tractor-trailer caused major damage to power and communication lines after overturning on San Antonio’s Northeast Side Tuesday morning.

According to KSAT, the incident occurred along the northbound lanes of I-35 near the exit to Eisenhauer Road.

Police believe the hydraulic lift on the truck began to raise its dump bed trailer as it was traveling down the road. The dump bed then struck an overhead power and fiber optic lines causing the vehicle to overturn.

The crash caused a fire that spread to a nearby grassy area and building. Both the driver and passenger in the truck were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

The estimated cost of the damage is $1.5 million dollars.
