51-year-old driver killed in San Antonio trucking accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man was killed as the result of a single-vehicle truck accident on I-10 Thursday evening.

According to KENS, the accident was reported at about 7:40 p.m. on the I-10 overpass at FM 1516.

Investigators with the San Antonio Police Department say the 18-wheeler struck a vehicle that had been abandoned on the bridge. The truck then slid across the lanes of travel and struck a wall, ejecting the driver.

The 51-year-old man was rushed to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A FedEx truck later crashed into the wreckage left by the fatal collision. No injuries were reported as a result of that crash.
