BOERNE, TX – Firefighters with the Boerne Fire Department responded to an ambulance fire along I-10 early Monday morning.
According to KENS, the incident was reported at about 12:30 a.m. along I-10 near the exit to Dietz Elkhorn Road.
Fire officials say the Kendall County ambulance was transporting a patient to a hospital in San Antonio when it caught fire due to a generator malfunction.
Paramedics were able to get the unidentified patient out of the ambulance before they could be injured in the blaze. The Boerne Fire Department used one of its vehicles to complete the transport.
