Corpus Christi installs sidewalk along Victoria Park Drive

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi has installed an asphalt sidewalk along Victoria Park Drive between Wooldridge Road and Quebec Street to provide children with a safe path to Adkins Middle School.

KRIS reports that the city decided to install the pedestrian and bike path after an area mother complained that her children were unable to walk to school because of safety concerns. Without the safe path, children were at risk of being hit by vehicles along the busy corridor. It is unclear whether there had been any specific collisions on this stretch of road.

Danielle James, the mother in question, note that foot traffic in the area had improved after the new sidewalk was installed. “It’s not on the street anymore, so it’s really good.”
