CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Officers were called to the scene of a major crash on South Padres Island Drive Thursday afternoon.
According to a tweet by Corpus Christi Police, the crash took place at about 2:50 p.m. at the intersection with Jackfish Avenue, just south of Packery Channel Park.

The cause of the crash remains unclear at this time. However, motorists were advised to seek an alternate route as significant delays were reported in the area after the collision.
No injuries have been reported as a direct result of the crash.
