ARMSTRONG, TX – A Corpus Christi woman was killed while riding as a passenger in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 77 near Armstrong in Kenedy County. The victim was identified as 43-year-old Magdalena Escobedo, who was riding in a Ford F-150 truck with two other passengers and the driver when the crash occurred.
According to Texas DPS officials, the vehicle experienced a tire blowout on the rear passenger side of the vehicle, causing the truck to leave the roadway and roll multiple times before striking a tree. Escobedo was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and other passengers were transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen for treatment of non-serious injuries.
