Deceased dog on Highway 90 causes single motorcycle accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A San Antonio motorcyclist is recovering in the hospital after sustaining serious injuries as the result of a collision on the West Side Highway early Thursday morning.

According to KSAT, the accident occurred along the eastbound access road near Springvale shortly before 3 a.m.

A witness recalled seeing the motorcyclist thrown from his bike after striking a dog that had been lying dead in the middle of the roadway. The motorcycle continued down the road for some distance after the rider was ejected.

The 48-year-old man was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition as of Thursday evening. Details regarding his identity have not been made available to the public at this time.
