Distracted driver injures one in downtown accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – One person was seriously injured in a downtown accident caused by a distracted driver, Fox San Antonio reports. 

Around 3 a.m., the driver of a pickup truck was looking at his phone when he ran a red light at the intersection of Navarro Street and East Houston Street. The truck then crashed into a car in the intersection and spun into a light pole.

A passenger in the pickup was seriously injured and hospitalized. There were two people in the car and both escaped injury.

Police are unsure if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
