Driver crashes into sheriff’s patrol car near downtown

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A driver rear-ended a Bexar County Sheriff deputy’s patrol car near downtown early Monday morning, Fox San Antonio reports.

The man was driving on an entrance ramp for I-35 South near S. Alamo Street around 2 a.m. Monday morning. After the crash, the man got out of his car and jumped off the ramp in an attempt to flee police, breaking his arm in the process.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with head and back pain but is expected to recover.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
