BROWNSVILLE, TX – A teen driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed near the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley campus earlier this month.
The April 14th crash took place shortly after 10 a.m. within the 400 block of Ringgold Road, just north of West University Boulevard.
Police say the 18-year-old man behind the wheel of a 2016 Nissan made an unsafe turn and collided head-on with a structure along the roadway.
Both the driver and his 16-year-old passenger were unhurt. However, the vehicle sustained significant front-end damage and was towed from the scene.
